pxtone

i tend to use pxtone to make music. it is a music format made by Pixel, best known for creating Cave Story^{[which you should play btw]}. some of his games use this format, most notably Kero Blaster^{[which you should Also play btw]}. it's a bit of an unconventional tool but it's pretty good.

many resources for pxtone are in japanese. knowing that this website is in english, you might not understand japanese (i certainly don't). translation tools may prove useful. i recommend the Simple Translate extension

  the best pxtone editor (or rather, the better one). better than pxtone collage for *almost* everything, but does not come with ptvoice or ptnoise editors

  the latest version of pxtone collage can be found here, as well as several previous versions and some useful tools. (do know that pxtone collage is windows-only, but wine works well on it at least on mac)

i also advise using ptvoices wherever you can, or wherever you dont have to change the pitch it's at. wav and ogg samples are prone to sounding like garbage
